Rosewood Munich is the brand’s first property in Germany and seventh property in Europe. Housed in two landmark, historical buildings comprised of the former headquarters of the State Bank of Bavaria and the adjacent Palais Neuhaus-Preysing, a former grand aristocratic residence, Rosewood Munich is ideally situated in the heart of the historic city center, with interior architecture and design by Tara Bernerd & Partners.
Inside the hotel is a contemporary take on baroque architecture, combining sympathetic design that melds with the historic elements of the building, to bring a distinctly modern, Bavarian feel. Our approach to the hotel has been to bring a refined residential style, a mix of eclectic furniture, with handsome, bold palettes and rich materials to achieve a feeling of understated luxury and simplistic elegance. We have sought to combine the two diverse characters of old and new Munich, through the use of form and materiality, interweaving contemporary shapes with more traditional fabrics.
