Internationally renowned designer Tara Bernerd is the founder of the interior architectural practice, Tara Bernerd & Partners. Based in London’s Belgravia, the practice works on a global platform and prides itself on its intelligent approach to interior space-planning and design.

Though each project is unique, Tara Bernerd & Partners’ handsome signature style is one of approachable luxury with an industrial edge and each space possesses a masculine, and ultimately timeless, elegance.

Bernerd and her team strive to create a feeling of authenticity within each property by establishing a distinct design DNA that is true to both the location and the people who will make it their home. Whether in a hotel lobby, a restaurant, or a private residence, the team seek to create meaning and connection through a distinct sense of place.

Partner, Head of Architecture

Tommy Gymnander

Tommy Gymnander is a RIBA/ARB registered Architect, who started his career in Sweden and has since built a global portfolio. Tommy has extensive experience working on luxury hotel projects, having completed work for both architectural and interior design firms. His experience in the United States and across Europe in interior design includes all project phases from initial concept to site management and final on-site installation. At Tara Bernerd & Partners, Tommy is relied heavily on to perfect the integrity of floorplans and layouts and ensure all work is of the highest architectural standard.

Partner, Head of Design

Michelle Hughes

Michelle Hughes is the Head of Design at Tara Bernerd & Partners. Having worked with the practice for over ten years Michelle has played a pivotal role on many of our key projects in Europe, USA, and Asia.

Michelle is responsible for the smooth running of the company and ensuring exceptional design output across all projects. She is critical to ensuring TBP’s growth and development as well as its financial health.

While working closely with the team of Directors, Michelle and the Directors also serve as mentors to all employees encouraging a collaborative studio environment. Michelle also remains hands on in the creative process from concept to completion.

Partner, Head of Finance

David Beck

David Beck has worked with Tara Bernerd since inception of the company and has been instrumental in its success.  As Head of Finance, David plays a pivotal role regarding all financial matters within the business, working closely with both Tara and the Director of Operations.

Partner, Head of Creative & Style

Stephanie Weatherly

As Head of Creative & Style at Tara Bernerd & Partners, Stephanie is responsible for the design intent across multiple projects, from client pitch to site installation.

Stephanie is an expert at creating unique design, with an exceptional talent for ‘setting the scene’. Her experience is evident in projects such as Kimpton Fitzroy, The Hari London, SIXTY SoHo New York and Westminster Terrace among many others.

Stephanie is currently working on Equinox LA, a private yacht for Perini Navi, Sabina Estates, Ibiza, Belmond Maroma and Four Seasons, Fort Lauderdale Hotel & Private Residences.

Partner, Head of Communications

Lucien Smith

Working alongside Tara Bernerd since 2006, Lucien Smith plays a pivotal role within the HQ team at Tara Bernerd & Partners, managing client relations, industry networking, strategic planning and talent management.

Having previously worked for the internationally acclaimed Architect, Zaha Hadid, and Interior Designer, Anouska Hempel, Lucien has a wealth of experience in the design industry, both in the UK and internationally.

Director of Operations

Katherine Goodwin

As Director of Operations, Katherine’s role focuses on the profitable and successful development of the TB&P studio. Within this role, she is responsible for development of new business, management of client relations, marketing of the firm and shepherding of existing projects to align with client needs and changing circumstances.

Prior to joining the TB&P team in 2014 ago Katherine’s background is predominantly based in creative marketing, overseeing strategic account management for clients such as NBC Universal, BBC and Lionsgate.

Project Designer, Associate Director

Adam Davies

Adam Davies is a highly skilled and experienced Furniture and Interior Designer with over twenty years’ experience in the industry.

Since joining the company in early 2018 Adam has been leading a team to design the 133-key Rosewood Munich. Prior to this, Adam worked at Heah & Co as a Senior Interior Designer and has experience of over 50 projects worldwide including; Jean-Georges at the Connaught; The Berkeley Hotel London, Four Seasons, Rosewood and Aman Resorts.

Project Designer

Yuki Leung

Yuki Leung is a highly experienced Project Designer. Having worked at Tara Bernerd & Partners for over seven years, Yuki has established herself as an important member of the team. As such, Yuki is lead designer on a number of hospitality projects including The Hari, Hong Kong; Zentis Osaka, Japan; Four Seasons, Fort Lauderdale.

Yuki has also worked on a number of Commercial Residential projects, including: Goldsmith’s Road, a one-off luxury home on The Peak Hong Kong; Duke’s Place Hong Kong, a high end duplex apartment; Queen’s Gate, a luxury residential development in Shanghai and Kau To Shan Townhouses in Hong Kong.

Project Designer

Sophie Deeley

Sophie is a Project Designer with a strong background in Hospitality Design.  Since joining TB&P in 2018, Sophie has worked on a number of projects, quickly being appointed as Lead Designer on Belmond Maroma, Thompson Hollywood Hotel and Son Ginard Hotel in Mallorca.


Prior to joining, Sophie worked for five years at Wimberly Interiors (WATG) on a number of hotel projects. Most notably Sophie led a team on Belmond’s Venice Simplon Orient Express as well as working with brands such as Four Seasons, JW Marriot and Viceroy.

Project Designer

Olivia Susai

Olivia is an experienced Project Designer and FF&E Project Manager specialising in boutique hospitality interiors. Olivia joined the company in early 2018 and has been FF&E lead in a number of projects including Four Seasons Downtown New York, Rosewood Munich and is currently working on Rosewood Porto Cervo.

Prior to this, she worked with GA Design where she led interior projects for 5-star luxury properties in Brussels, Seoul, Jakarta and Dubai. Overall, she has worked extensively on over 30 residential and hospitality projects internationally.
